About Us

Dermot Hughes of Peridot Property Consultants is a chartered surveyor and a commercial property specialist with over 20 years industry experience.  Peridot provide a range of consultancy services that includes landlord and tenant advisory, valuation services and strategic development advice.

Dermot is a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (MRICS), the Society of Chartered Surveyors Ireland (MSCSI) and an RICS Registered Valuer. He began his career as a general practice surveyor within Jersey, in the Channel Islands from 2005 onwards, before repatriating to Ireland in early 2019.

Within Jersey, he worked within a boutique practice named Buckley & Co, an affiliate office of Cushman & Wakefield within the CI's, wherein his work comprised a mix of agency, valuation and L&T representation work. Primary clients included Citi Bank, State Street Bank, the William Pears Group and the Royal Mail Pension Fund.

On his return to Ireland, he became head of Valuation and Advisory Services within Cushman & Wakefield's Limerick Office and subsequently became C&W's Irish lead, in all healthcare valuations.

Following further rolls within Sherry Fitzgerald's Commercial Valuations team and the Kroll Real Estate and Advisory Group (formerly Duff & Phelps), he established Peridot Property Consultants within early 2025.
